Terms & Conditions

  1. The terms and conditions relate to all business operations completed by Motoshow Plates.com LTD, hereinafter referred to as the 'Company'.

  2. The person buying goods from the 'Company' is hereinafter referred to as the 'Purchaser'.

  3. Statutory rights or the 'Purchaser' are not affected. The 'Purchaser is solely responsible to make sure all details provided onto 'Company' Internet forms are correctly submitted at the time of purchase. The 'Purchaser' will be notified as soon as an order is received, that the service provided by the 'Company' begins from the time of a purchase. The 'Company' will be happy to give you a new replacement without delay if the return consequences either from an fault made by us or from a damaged or defective item. Yet, you must inform us and return the damaged or defective product and this must be received by us within 14 days of delivery to you. You will not be charged any extra postage or handling fees for the substitute. To make a return, please give the explanation for the return and wrap the package securely.     If you don't receive your plates in a reasonable amount of time then please contact us. We have to allow 15 working days to elapse before Royal Mail considers an item lost, after that time we can claim against Royal Mail and issue you a new set of plates. Royal Mail allows 15 working days to allow enough time for the plates to be returned to us in the event of delivery problems.

  4. The 'Company' is a registered number plate supplier with DVLA. Our supplier identity number (SID) is 53365.

    All number plate suppliers in the UK are required to register with DVLA to be compliant with DVLA's regulations. Customers buying a new set of registration number plates need to also obey DVLA's regulations and must supply original documents to proof their identity and evidence of the registration number associated with their name. Once you order your registration number plates you will be prompted to provide us with your original documentation (1) Proof of Identity and (2) Prof of entitlement. It is required by DVLA to prove that you are allowed to display the plate, therefore you must provide one document as a "proof of identity" and one document for "proof of entitlement". The two proofs will allow us to check your name, address and vehicle entitlement. Please see below what is classed as (1) Proof of Identity and (2) Proof of entitlement:

    (1) Proof of Identity:

    • Passport
    • Driving licence
    • Current utility, telephone or Council Tax bill
    • National ID card issued by the Government of a state of territory other than the UK
    • Police warrant card
    • Armed forces identity card

    Important: whichever Proof of Identity you choose it must show your name and address!

    (2) Proof of Entitlement:

    • The tear-off slip (V5C/2) from (V5C section 10)
    • A red Vehicle Registration Certificate (V5C) is accepted (not the old blue certificates)
    • A Cherished Transfer Retention Certificate (V778)
    • A Certificate of entitlement to a mark (V750)
    • A Vehicle Licence Renewal (V11)
    • A Temporary Registration Certificate (V379)
    • A letter of authorisation from Fleet Operators (including a lease hire company). The letter must state the document ref number from the V5C
    • An Authorisation Certificate (V948) from DVLA Local Office

    These regulations are the legal requirements requested by DVLA which every number plate supplier must follow in order to comply with current regulations and law. Please rest assure that these legal requirements are requested only for customer's protection to prevent theft and to limit criminal offence. Please be aware that after placing your order with us you must provide the requested documentation. You will have no right to cancel your order if you are incapable or reluctant to comply with DVLA's regulations. This will be classed as you 'the purchaser' breaking the contract which will consequently result that we do not despatch the number plates and there can be no refund issued.

    Registration numbers must be presented correctly. Should you mis-space or mis-represent your letters and numbers in a way you must be aware that it is an offence under the Road Vehicles (Registration and Licensing) Regulations 1971. Please note that it is a 'Purchaser' responsibility to be aware of all regulations regarding number plates. For more information please visit the DVLA website. Important: Motoshow Plates.com will correct any mis-spaced or mis-represent letters and numbers automatically according to your documentation (V5C, V11, V778, etc.).

  5. All orders received before 4pm will be dispatched the same day if we receive your proof of identity and evidence. Any order after 4pm will be classed as before 4pm the following day, however you must provide your proofs. Weekend orders are classed as before 4pm Monday, the same rules to supply documentations apply. We generally start work on your order as soon as we receive it and as such orders placed via the website cannot be cancelled. Most orders are generally received within 48hrs, but please allow up to five working days for delivery. If you place an especially high-value order we reserve the right to contact you for further confirmation of your delivery details, prior to authorization.

  6. The Purchaser agrees to hold harmless and indemnify the Company for any liability incurred as a result of the Purchaser's unauthorized use of any material contained in the number plates, including but not limited to use of logos in violation of any right of the copyright or trademark holder of said logos. Contact us immediately and we will remove your logo from this site if you do not want your logo displayed.

  7. The 'Company' manufactures also show/sign plates with the information you write down when you place your order. We cannot be held responsible for any inaccuracy made by the customer. The invoice shows clearly the order as entered by the customer. We are not constrained to provide refunds for personalised items if the mistake is made by the customer. These rules apply to show plates only (please refer to paragraph 9 to identify "show plate") and do not apply for number plates (see Paragraph 4).

  8. The 'Company' appreciates customers satisfaction very highly. If you have any complaints regarding your online order you've done via our website www.motoshowplates.com, please e-mail to info@motoshowplates.com. We will be very happy to assist you.

  9. The 'Company' is also manufacturer and supplier of show plates for 'off road' use only, car shows, rally days, exhibitions and for use on private land where the law does not apply. Down to strict limitations of trade placed upon the 'Company' by the DVLA, please be strongly advised that show plate cannot contain any registration numbers (e.g. CLAIRE could be classed as a ‘show plate’ as this format, containing only letters, has never been issued. However, CL14 ARE is a registration mark format and cannot be classed as a ‘show plate’). Note that show plates made via our website or otherwise will be sold to the buyer on the basis of being for show use only and the buyer may expose to prosecution if the plates are operated on UK highways. Please be strongly advised that should you choose to purchase a plate with the intention of being similar to a legal registration number plate and consequently use this on your vehicle, we do not take any responsibility for your action in any conditions.

  10. The 'Company' maintains a full evidence of all new number plates that are manufactured and the details of the person who has bought them to support the attempts of the DVLA and Police in reducing car crime. If we are asked for by the Police to grant details of who we distributed plate/plates to then we must do this. With the exception of the authorities on demand, your personal data will never be disclosed to a third party.

  11. Privacy policy (card payments) - The 'Company do not store credit card details nor do share customer details with any 3rd parties.

  12. No unwritten circumstances or assurances or implied shall have consequences on these terms and conditions unless written and signed by the Director of the Company. If any expression, condition or convention of this agreement is held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be unacceptable, annulled or unenforceable, the remaining provisions of this contract shall continue in the full force and effect and shall not have an effect on, harmed or cancelled. These terms and conditions set up the full agreement between both parties in respect of the sell. The 'Company makes every effort to ensure the content shown on this website does not initiate offence to any individual or third party. In case there is any material found on this website which does cause offence to any individual or third party then please contact us and we shall investigate and take required action to remove any offending material. This agreement shall be regulated and composed in accordance with English Law, each party therefore agree to the jurisdiction of the English Courts.
